High School Lacrosse: Jackson Memorial Advances in Group IV Tournament

Evan Farrar led the Jackson rush against Livingston with 4 goals and two assists in the Jaguars’ 14-9 win in round 2 of the Group IV lacrosse tournament.   Goalie Drew Smith had 8 saves.  Austin Letts scored 3 goals, while Connor Cunningham and Nick Specht each scored 2.    Nick Wolf had one goal and 5 assists.   Jackson travels to Hunterdon Central today to compete in the semifinals.     A win would send Jackson to the finals on Saturday versus the winner of Montclair and Ridge.    The Jaguars came from behind to win after being down 8-7 in the 3rd period.  Jackson outscored Livinston 6-1 in the 4 period for the win.

Jackson is seeded #6 in the Tournament and Hunterdon Central #3.   Central knocked out #14 Cherokee on Tuesday 16-3.

Seeded #32 going into the tournament, the Lions didn’t stand much of a chance against   #2 Ridgewood  The Lions were shutout 16-0 in the first round.

Jackson Liberty Falls in Round 1
The Lions Girls lacrosse team put up a valiant effort against a powerhouse team from Colts Neck in a 20-7 loss in round one of the South Group III tournament.

Jackson Memorial Reaches Semifinal

In the South Group IV tournament, Jackson Memorial opened with a round 1 win against Millville 21-9.  In round 2, the Jags defeated Cherokee 15-7, but lost a close 16-11 game against #1 Washington Township in the semifinals.  Corrine Fisher scored 3 goals, Sam Fanok and Erin Scheno each scored two and Rachel George, Taylor George, Sam Hosford and Sarah Houde each had a goal.

Jackson was down 10-3 at the half, but had a strong second half, but came up 4 short.
